Meet Satira

PR GIRL & BLOGGER

Hello, my name is Satira. Satira is not the name given to me by my parents but the meaning of my real name. Satira is a coined name from Setareh; to avoid the possibility of mispronunciation.

I am a Nigerian blogger, public relations professional, and co-founder of Candour Communications. As a passionate and ingenious PR professional, I have crafted and implemented strategies and PR campaigns for public figures, organisations, and events such as the Africa International Film Festival, International Drinks Festival, Rule Number One the Movie, Spur and Panarottis Nigeria, Betking Nigeria, Katchey Limited, Taeillo, Timi Dakolo, Tonya Lawani etc.

I love being a PR Girl. My professional mission is to evolve individuals into thought leaders and enhance the commercial value of organisations within the services, entertainment, tourism and hospitality sectors. Some of my notable achievements include; The effective use of social media to influence public perception of PENCOM, PR support for Freeman Osonuga (the first Nigerian shortlisted to travel to space in 2015), being one of the contributors to the first edition of Experiencing PR an e-book by the Nigerian Women in Public Relations, and the national awareness of the Relaunch of BetKing’s New Brand Identity campaign.

I hold a degree in English Education from the prestigious University of Lagos and certification in public relations from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). An additional certificate in Public Relations Career Planning and Skills from PR Couture, and in the process of becoming a Chartered PR Professional from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK).

Aside from being a PR girl, I enjoy sharing stories revolving around my unique life experiences, being a social listener, music and movies, and satisfying my curious mind. SatiraYANZ started in 2017 on my WhatsApp status. I share tales about my life experiences, interactions with people, and opinions about controversial topics. After a year of consistently sharing stories on Whatsapp, I decided to create The SatiraYANZ blog for me to communicate to a larger audience. I hope you enjoy this space. YAN, by the way, means to speak in Nigerian Pidgin English.
